As we head to the closing of 2020 and herald in the new year of 2021, I ask myself "have I evolved or simply revolved?"

It is easy and natural to revolve with the circle of life, and the cycles of the seasons. It is harder to evolve in more of a spherical & rising type of way. But for those of us who are brave enough to - walk the road less traveled, to break the generational patterns of stagnancy, to adapt to change outside of our comfort zones - the abundant return is unparalleled.
Nature teaches this to us in so many simple yet sweet ways. In the Northern Hemisphere we can currently take strength from the leaves turning golden brown as we leave Autumn to embrace Winter and gently change & fall away, to ultimately create space for the renewal in the Spring. And in the Southern Hemisphere we are now turning from Spring to Summer, the budding cherry blossoms quickly learning to adapt & embrace the evolution of warmth & light after so many cold months of darkness.
Let us unite globally to embrace evolution as we adapt from the mayhem of 2020 to welcome and claim the magic of 2021. As Socrates taught "the secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new", coupled with Confucius reminding us that "our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall".
